A.S Recycling began with the ultimate goal of helping the campus reduce its waste to landfills by 25% by the year 2002.  Now a decade later, ASR and other campus organizations are working hard to meet the UC-wide goal of a 75% diversion rate by 2012. This will take innovative ideas as well as basic behavioral changes on campus.

In other exciting news, the state of California, as of October 6th, 2011 passed an official bill (AB 314) that states the new diversion rate goal of 75%!
